A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Tarhembe, has been abducted in Taraba State by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers. The incident was confirmed by the Communication Officer of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, John Jerome Laikei, through a statement.
Fr. Tarhembe was reportedly kidnapped from his parish, Saint Ann’s Parish in Sarkin Kudu, located in the Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State. The abduction occurred during the early hours of Sunday, October 29, 2023.
The statement issued by the Catholic Diocese of Wukari urged residents to pray for the safe and swift return of the abducted priest. This unfortunate incident has raised concerns and prayers for his well-being.
Abdullahi Usman, the spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, confirmed the abduction, indicating that law enforcement authorities are actively involved in addressing the situation.
