As Nigeria celebrates 23 years of unbroken democracy, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana and the Assistant Publicity Secretary Association of Ndieze Ndigbo in the Diaspora, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu has joined other notable Nigerians at home and the Diaspora to congratulate the nation even as he calls for good governance to address cases of insecurity in the country.
In a statement made available to the media from his Obiukwu Obieziokwu palace in Ghana, HRM Dr. Ihenetu explained that over the years, past governments has failed to address problem of Insecurity, Primary Health care, epileptic power supply, industrial action by lecturers in University, and unemployment among youths.
” By now, Nigeria ought to have passed that stage of frequent strike, epileptic power supply and lack of health care. Sadly this ugly situation still exist and has helped to fuel poverty in the country.
“As general election in 2023 approaches, government of the day must address this problem so that the country can experience smooth election that is free from rancor.”
In a strong message to the political class, the Umuduruoha Amigbo Nwagele Imo-State born Royal Father urges them to lead by example by shunning corruption and embezzlement of public funds for private use.
” When Corruption bad governance becomes the order of the day,what examples are the political class setting for the youths? Are are our leaders thinking of what they are handing over to the younger generation as legacy?
Are our leaders thinking about the average Nigerians and the less privilege?
“They should know that as they are amassing wealth for themselves and abandoning good governance, the youths born and unborn would be agitating for justice and fairness because as they continue to amass, wealth amidst poor people, the poor will be getting more aggressive and this could spell doom for the nation.
