The Department of State Services (DSS) has officially confirmed that the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is currently in their custody for investigative purposes. The confirmation was made by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Peter Afunanya, in a statement issued on Saturday. It stated, “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.” The statement also urged the public, especially the media, to exercise caution in reporting and discussing this matter.
This confirmation comes after earlier reports were refuted by the DSS, denying Emefiele’s detention in their custody.
