The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned Pauline Tallen, the former Minister of Women Affairs, for questioning regarding allegations of money laundering amounting to N2 billion.
Reportedly, Tallen arrived at the Abuja Zonal Command of the EFCC on Friday, June 2, and underwent questioning by investigators until 8 pm.
According to sources within the EFCC, Tallen is accused of diverting a portion of the funds from the African First Ladies Peace Mission Project. However, the specific details of the allegations remain unclear.
Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman for the commission, acknowledged the existence of the allegations but did not provide further information.
Tallen’s interrogation by the anti-graft agency comes shortly after the EFCC also questioned Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti state and a former minister in President Buhari’s administration.
Pauline Tallen, hailing from Plateau state, is a former senator and a close associate of former First Lady Aisha Buhari.
Initially, Tallen had resigned from her ministerial position ahead of the 2023 general elections to contest for a Senate seat but later changed her decision.
