Ekiti Police Boss Disburses ₦23.8 Million to Families of Fallen and Injured Officers

The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Joseph Eribo, has presented financial assistance totaling ₦23,849,554.24 to the families and next-of-kin of 27 deceased and injured police officers under the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Welfare Scheme.

The presentation, held on Wednesday at the Command Headquarters in Ado-Ekiti, was done on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, as part of the Group Life Assurance and Family Welfare Support Initiatives. The initiative aims to provide relief to families of officers who lost their lives or suffered permanent injuries while serving the nation.

In his address, CP Eribo commiserated with the beneficiaries, describing their late loved ones as “true heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.” He reaffirmed the IGP’s dedication to the welfare of police personnel and their families, assuring that the Force will continue to enhance support structures for both active and retired officers.

Eribo urged recipients to invest the funds wisely in ventures that would help sustain their families and uphold the legacy of their departed relatives.

The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude to the IGP and the Police High Command, saying the support would go a long way in easing their hardship and rebuilding their lives.

The event was attended by senior officers, including Deputy and Assistant Commissioners of Police, as well as other top-ranking personnel of the Ekiti State Police Command.
