On Monday, residents of Enugu State took to the streets to protest against the continuous enforcement of an illegal sit-at-home order issued by a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
A Facebook live video recorded by Ebubechukwu Uzo captured the protest, showing many residents of the state actively participating and holding placards with various inscriptions to voice their dissatisfaction.
One of the placards held by the protesters had the inscription, “We no longer meet up with our hire purchase because of sit-at-home.” This indicates that the sit-at-home order has been severely affecting their daily lives, causing disruptions to their livelihoods, including business and economic activities.
The protest reflects the growing discontent among residents towards the imposed sit-at-home orders, which have resulted in economic hardships and inconvenience for the people of Enugu State. The order appears to be having significant adverse effects on the socio-economic well-being of the residents, leading them to take to the streets to express their grievances.
