Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), shared an interesting experience about his popularity, stating that wherever he goes, Nigerians approach him for photos. Speaking at an event broadcasted by Channels Television, Wike recounted his visit to Lagos for an event hosted by the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
According to Wike, the moment he entered the venue, “Every Nigerian wanted to snap with me. If I was collecting money every time this happened, do you know how much I will make?” The FCT Minister highlighted the overwhelming demand for photos with him, even prompting his friend to inquire about the phenomenon.
He further mentioned that such occurrences extend beyond Nigeria, citing instances in places like London where Nigerians offer to help him with his luggage. Reflecting on these experiences, Wike emphasized the importance of making a positive impact on people’s lives, regardless of one’s position, stating, “All of this tells me something, you must make an impact on people’s lives.”
