The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as his younger brother.
Wike made the remark on Thursday during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of Collector Road CN2 (Emmanuel I. Ogala Street), which links Arterial N16 (Yemi Osinbajo Way) to N20 (Wole Soyinka Way), including Road ILS 5 within Katampe District, Abuja.
According to the minister, “Fayose is my younger brother, and I’m always happy anytime he comes to witness what his elder brother is doing.”
Both Wike and Fayose are prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and were part of the G-5 Integrity Group, which opposed the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 general election.
The G-5, made up of five PDP governors at the time, demanded fairness and equity within the party’s leadership structure before the polls.
Wike’s latest remarks highlight the continued cordial relationship between the two political figures despite internal party differences.
