The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has released a list of 135 roads to undergo rehabilitation and resurfacing in various districts of Abuja. The Minister of the FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike, inaugurated Phase I of these projects on Monday, setting a completion timeline of six months for the contractors.
The list of streets to be rehabilitated and resurfaced includes various roads in Wuse, Garki, Gwarimpa, and Maitama Districts. Most of the projects are concentrated in the Wuse District. In Zone 1 of Wuse, streets such as Daloa, Kayes, Umme, Bumbuna, and many others are part of the rehabilitation plan. Zone II will see streets like Kribi, Kumba, Touggourf, Gaborone, and more being worked on. Zone 3 includes Idimba, Port Loko, and other streets for rehabilitation.
In Zone 4, streets like Mandingou, Lubumbashi, Port Said, and others will be resurfaced. Zone 5 includes Doula Streets, Mombasa Street, and more. Zone 6 lists streets like Cotonou, Yaounde, Makeni, and various others. Zone 7 will see the rehabilitation of streets like Lome, Harper, and others.
Additionally, Ladoke Akintola Boulevard in Garki II and Strabag Road in Gwarimpa Life-Camp will be rehabilitated. In Maitama, roads such as N16 Road, Maitama Roundabout, and N11/B4 (Ahmadu Bello Way/This Day Dome Junction) will undergo improvements. Other streets listed for rehabilitation include House 14, 1 and 2, off Jere Street, behind Rita Lori Hotel.
These infrastructure projects align with the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the current administration and aim to enhance the overall quality of road networks in the region.
