In a significant development this week, the Federal Government unveiled that it has officially granted licenses to 17 Independent Electricity Distribution Network operators, with 11 of them currently operational, according to the 2022 Market Competition Report released by the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

The report states, “The commission has also licensed 17 Independent Electricity Distribution Network operators, of which 11 are operational.”
