In response to the recent release of the Al-Kadriyar sisters after their reported abduction, the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to intensify their prayers in the face of the prevailing security challenges in the country. Taking to her official social media handle on Monday, January 22, 2024, Tinubu conveyed her message of gratitude and emphasized the power of prayer.
The Al-Kadriyar sisters were reportedly freed on Saturday, January 20, following the payment of ₦100 million to their abductors. In her post, Tinubu expressed joy over the safe return of the sisters and credited the efficacy of prayer for their release. She stated, “Prayer works, and I want to thank all Nigerians, especially mothers, for praying for the safe return of the Al-Kadriyar sisters. Let us, however, not relent in our prayers.”
Tinubu urged Nigerians to continue their collective prayers, emphasizing that the challenges facing the nation require concerted efforts. She stated, “Let us intensify our prayers as it is prayers that would bring us out of this conundrum we find ourselves in as a nation.”
While commending the efforts of the security agencies involved in the sisters’ release, the First Lady encouraged them not to relent in their commitment to combating insecurity in the nation. In her concluding remarks, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the security agencies’ efforts and extended her blessings to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
