Ghali Umar Na’abba, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has passed away at the age of 65. He breathed his last on Wednesday morning at the National Hospital in Abuja, following a brief illness.
Na’abba, who served as the second Speaker of the House of Representatives in the current 4th Republic, was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives in 1999, representing Kano State. His elevation to the position of Speaker came a few months after the inauguration of the House, succeeding the then Speaker, Salisu Buhari, who resigned amidst a certificate forgery scandal.
