The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, has announced the resumption date for the continuation of the 2020/2021 academic session.
It was reported that the academic calendar of public universities in Nigeria was interrupted in February 2022 after the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, declared an indefinite strike to protest their unmet demands by the government.
ASUU, however, in a statement released last week Friday announced the suspension of the strike and directed its members to resume.
In this regard, FUTA Registrar, Richard Arifalo, announced on Thursday that lectures leading to the completion of the First Semester at the varsity would resume on Monday, October 24, 2023.
The varsity Don said all students are expected to be on campus from Sunday, noting that the resumption date was given at a special meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday.
