Early Tuesday morning, a Divisional Police station in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State was attacked by unknown gunmen. While no officer was reported killed, one officer was shot during the attack and is currently receiving treatment.
The assailants, arriving at the unfenced police station around 2 am in a Toyota Sienna bus, forcefully demanded the release of Nnamdi Kanu, chanting “Release Nnamdi Kanu, No Nnamdi Kanu, no peace.” The attackers successfully made off with arms and ammunition from the station.
A local source revealed that the gunmen entered the area through Eha-Amufu and left the same way. It is believed that they might have taken a route through Aguamede to Benue state, avoiding confrontation with soldiers in the Nkalagu area.
As of now, the Enugu State Police Public command has not issued an official statement regarding the reported attack. Authorities are likely investigating the incident to gather more information and respond appropriately.
