David Bitrus Barji Kasuwa rallied friends and well-wishers to join the fight for sustaining Nigeria’s security. The event, organized as part of the celebrations marking Hon. Kasuwa’s birthday, took a serious turn as the esteemed guest called on all Nigerians to view themselves as soldiers in the battle for the nation’s security.
In his lead presentation on the theme, “New Dimension of National Security Challenges,” Hon. Kasuwa emphasized the need for increased efforts in communicating Nigeria’s National Values, National Interests, and National Objectives from the perspective of national security. He particularly stressed the importance of reaching out to the younger generation, urging more attention to be given to youths of school age.
The discussion on the topic was further enriched by Professor John Osunwa, a distinguished climate change expert and consultant to both the National Assembly and the United Nations. Professor Osunwa highlighted climate change as one of the emerging dimensions of national security challenges, urging that it should be a concern not only for the government but for all well-meaning individuals.
