A serving inspector in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, who allegedly attempted to kill his colleague on duty and steal his rifle, has been apprehended by the state police command. Additionally, the police command successfully disrupted a rail line vandalization operation and recovered related evidence, including impounded vehicles.
The Kaduna State Police Command became aware of the incident through a viral video on social media, which alleged the arrest of a serial police killer who was also a police officer.
According to the command’s statement, a distressing situation occurred on June 16, 2023, around 7:30 PM at the Police Mobile Force base of 62 Squadron in Kafanchan. During this incident, Inspector Moses Paul reportedly attempted to kill his duty partner, Inspector Simnawa Paul, by strangling him with a rope.
Fortunately, two other police officers responded to the cries for help from their colleague and were able to rescue the victim from the attack.
Further investigations and appropriate actions will be taken by the police command to address this incident and ensure justice is served.
