The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has denied involvement in last Sunday’s attack on members of the Labour Party, LP, in Enugu State.
It was earlier reported that gunmen suspected to be hoodlums attacked LP members in Aninri and Awgu local government areas of the Enugu state on Sunday during their monthly ward meetings.
In a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB alleged that those behind the attack were sponsored by the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Service, DSS.
The Biafra group said it has no hands in the criminal activities, reiterating that its members remained peaceful and focused on how to secure the referendum date.
It vowed that those hired for such impersonation and demonization would soon incur its wrath and that of Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives
