In a recent revelation, investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo has made startling allegations against a popular female Twitter influencer with a massive following of over 550,000 users. According to Olunloyo, the influencer known as @firstladyship ‘Nerfititi’ is not who she appears to be and is, in fact, a male individual using a female picture to deceive and manipulate the public.
Taking to Twitter to expose her findings, Olunloyo criticized Twitter NG (Nigeria) users, labeling them as daft and easily fooled. She urged people to be cautious about the accounts they follow, especially those claiming to be influencers. She singled out @firstladyship, accusing the owner of the account of being a former Special Assistant (SA) to Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, named Henry Shields.
Olunloyo claimed that Shields had switched allegiance from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party during the last elections. She further alleged that @firstladyship was using a photo of an American woman from Miami to tweet political rhetoric. Olunloyo even reached out to the woman in the picture to verify the authenticity of the account.
According to her investigation, Henry Shields, under the guise of @firstladyship, is controlling the Twitter handle, using the image of the innocent woman for his political agenda. Olunloyo believes that many followers of the account have been brainwashed by the misleading image.
Reno Omokri, a prominent Nigerian author and lawyer, had previously mentioned Shields, accusing him of leading a double life as a political jobber in Abuja. He alleged that Shields had benefited from the Peter Obi campaign propaganda and that the former governor funded individuals like him to incite misfit behaviors.
Olunloyo’s exposé has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian Twitter community, raising concerns about the authenticity of social media influencers and the potential for image manipulation to deceive the public. As the controversy unfolds, many are questioning the credibility of accounts they follow and the need for greater scrutiny of social media personalities.
