SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, issued a stern caution to “woke Nigerians,” advising against provoking armed individuals in any circumstance. In a statement released on Monday, Hundeyin underscored the paramount importance of prioritizing personal safety above all else.
The police spokesperson warned against the reckless act of challenging or daring armed individuals to violence, emphasizing that such confrontations invariably lead to tragic outcomes, irrespective of location.
“Ladies and gentlemen, especially the woke generation, for your safety, please stop challenging/daring an armed person to shoot, asking an armed person, daringly, how many people he/she can kill or attempting to disarm an armed person,” Hundeyin’s statement read.
He highlighted the irreversible consequences of such actions, stating, “It never pans out well. Nowhere in the world does it. A shot once fired can never be retrieved. A life once lost can never be brought back.”
Moreover, Hundeyin stressed the overwhelming advantage wielded by an armed individual, cautioning against underestimating the potency of a firearm. He emphasized that this advisory extended beyond encounters with armed police officers to encompass all armed persons, including security forces and criminals alike.
The statement reiterated the imperative of exercising caution and restraint when confronted with armed individuals, emphasizing the irreplaceable value of human life and the irreversible nature of violence.
