The Lagos State Government has taken swift action by ordering the immediate closure of the Lekki Conservation Centre (LCC) following safety concerns raised by a visitor on social media about the condition of the canopy walkway.
The decision to close the popular conservation facility was made after a concerned visitor brought attention to the state of the canopy walkway, prompting the government to prioritize the safety of residents and visitors.
Lanre Omojola, the Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, led a team on a visit to the Lekki Conservation Centre and emphasized that ensuring the safety of Lagos residents remains the highest priority for the state government. Omojola further announced the order for immediate and extensive repairs on the affected areas to address the safety issues raised by the visitor.
The closure underscores the commitment of the Lagos State Government to maintaining safety standards in public spaces, and the prompt response reflects the importance attached to the well-being of those who visit recreational facilities in the state.
