A man identified as ThankGod Ekwueme has been apprehended by the Rivers State Police Command for the heinous act of selling his three children, according to a report by IGBERETV.
The suspect’s wife, who is deaf and dumb, was unaware of her husband’s sinister actions. ThankGod Ekwueme allegedly sold his 5-year-old child for N700,000, the 3-year-old for N350,000, and the day-old baby for N500,000.
The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, SP, revealed this shocking news in a statement on Thursday, July 13, 2023. The arrest followed credible information about the suspect’s illegal activities.
During an interview with journalists, Ekwueme confessed that he was intercepted by the OSPAC (Onelga Security, Planning, and Advisory Committee) in his community, Omerelu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, while he was attempting to sell his newborn baby.
Following the interception, Ekwueme was handed over to the Elele Police Division and later transferred to the CP Monitoring unit for further investigation.
In another distressing revelation, the mother-in-law of Mr. Ekwueme expressed her shock and dismay over her son-in-law’s actions. She disclosed that Ekwueme had previously deceived her, claiming that her grandchildren had died after childbirth. Little did she know that he was secretly selling the children upon delivery.
The suspect allegedly took advantage of his wife’s disability to perpetrate this horrific act, exploiting her vulnerability for his personal gain.
