In a recent development, operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have apprehended a man, Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu, in possession of 13 ATM cards allegedly stolen from individuals. The arrest took place on Friday, December 29, 2023, during a surveillance patrol around Jambutu Motor Park, Jimeta, Yola, by police operatives attached to the Department of State Intelligence.
According to a press statement released on Tuesday by police spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje, the stolen ATM cards were issued to authentic owners from different banks and were taken from a market in Mayo-Belwa, a local government area in the southern part of Adamawa State.
The 31-year-old suspect, Abubakar Tasi’u Tanimu, resides in the Tsohon Kasuwa neighborhood. The police statement assured the public that the investigation is ongoing and, upon completion, the suspect will be charged in court. The arrest underscores law enforcement’s commitment to addressing criminal activities and safeguarding the interests of the public.
