A Nigerian man, Tonye Solomon, has set a Guinness World Record for climbing 150 steps on a ladder while expertly balancing a football on his head atop a 250-foot (76-meter) tall radio mast. This remarkable achievement came after Tonye walked 60 kilometers (37 miles) with a football on his head from Amassoma to Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
Tonye’s extraordinary feat was not only about personal accomplishment but also about inspiring others to achieve great things. He spent two months training rigorously for the record, utilizing all his free time for practice until he felt confident in his ability to succeed.
During the record-setting attempt, Tonye displayed remarkable composure and skill as he ascended the steep ladder, taking just 12 and a half minutes to complete the climb. A large crowd, including radio presenter Fish Jombo, witnessed the historic event.
After climbing all 150 steps, Tonye jubilantly threw the football down and celebrated with a fist pump. He expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Civil Defense Bayelsa State Command for allowing him to use their facility for the record attempt.
Tonye is part of the Chukwuebuka Freestyle Academy, overseen by Chukwuebuka Ezugha, which has produced several record-breaking talents in various disciplines, including Kid Eche, Vincent Okezie, Victor Richard Kipo, and Confidence Kipo.
