The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, has announced the search for Salam Ayodeji, who is wanted in connection to alleged threats against Isese adherents in Ilorin, Kwara State. A recent report by Punch Online revealed that Ayodeji had reportedly entered the shop of a female Isese adherent, intimidating her and issuing a menacing ultimatum to vacate the town within eight days.
In a video circulating on X, Ayodeji can be heard confronting the woman about her business and demanding her departure from the building. “Do women sell electronics?” he questioned in Yoruba, with his associates responding in the negative. He went on to declare, “We have told you what we want; leave the town. We do not allow Isese people in our town.”
Interestingly, Ayodeji also claimed to have the support of the police commissioner in his aggressive stance during the incident. Subsequently, a meeting took place between Ayodeji’s family and Commissioner Adelesi on Monday. The commissioner urged the family to produce Ayodeji by Wednesday, citing accusations of terrorism and defamation against the police. She criticized the family for their son’s behavior and questioned their son’s actions, linking them to his wife’s origin in Osun State.
During the investigation, Commissioner Adelesi also engaged with the Alaran family, who were renting the space to the Isese adherents that Ayodeji targeted. She reprimanded them for complying with the suspect’s threats, shedding light on the controversy surrounding the case.
Ayodeji responded to the police commissioner, revealing that attempts to contact their son had been unsuccessful as his phone remained unreachable. Tajudeen, the husband of the bullied Isese lady, disclosed that Ayodeji’s family had sought his forgiveness and he had granted it. The situation remains under investigation as authorities work to resolve the issue surrounding the threats against the Isese adherents in Kwara State.
