The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has strongly criticized former militant leader Asari Dokubo, referring to him as a criminal and economic saboteur. This comes after Dokubo urged President Bola Tinubu not to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), stating that it would reward criminality in the Southeast.
In response, Uchenna Madu, the leader of MASSOB, condemned Dokubo’s statement as the “ranting of a frustrated criminal.” Madu expressed his disappointment, highlighting that Dokubo had betrayed the cause and sold his conscience for personal gain, disregarding the collective interests of the Eastern region. He reminded Dokubo of his own involvement in destructive activities, such as the vandalism of petroleum pipelines, and questioned how someone with a history of illegal possession of weapons could label Kanu, who lacks such criminal associations, as a criminal.
MASSOB firmly asserted that Nnamdi Kanu is not a criminal or an insignificant saboteur, unlike Asari Dokubo, whom they accused of being a “Moslem perpetual slave.” They called for Dokubo’s comments to be disregarded, emphasizing that he is the one deserving of contempt and should not be taken seriously.
