Amputee Nollywood actress and dancer, Doris Samuel Akonanya, candidly shared her experiences with relationships and her unconventional source of income in a recent interview with Yan Kontent Factory.
In the interview, Akonanya revealed that she has often found herself in relationships where men seemed to be motivated by pity rather than genuine connection. According to the actress, none of her past relationships concluded positively, with her lovers eventually abandoning her, acting as if they were doing her a favor.
When asked if she is treated differently by people due to her condition, Akonanya affirmed that she does experience different treatment but expressed her dislike for it, emphasizing that she is fully capable of doing everything an able-bodied adult can despite her differently-abled status.
Regarding her source of income, the actress disclosed that, apart from her involvement in movies, she earns additional money by taking photos and videos of herself in scanty outfits for a group of white individuals known as “Devotees.”
This revelation sheds light on the actress’s resilience and determination to navigate the challenges posed by societal perceptions, offering a glimpse into her multifaceted life beyond the entertainment industry.
