A shocking and bizarre incident occurred at Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos, on Friday, when a customer discovered a human private part in her plate of soup from a food vendor. The middle-aged woman, known as Ebere, raised the alarm after finding the strange meat, which appeared to be that of a male child.
An eyewitness recounted that traders and customers gathered at the GBO Plaza, where the incident occurred, to witness the strange sight of the human part garnishing the plate of soup. Panic ensued, and some claimed to have been regular customers of the vendor, expressing distress at potentially consuming human flesh unknowingly.
The food vendor maintained her innocence, stating that she bought the meat from her regular supplier within the market. However, this did not stop traders from demanding justice and calling for the meat seller to be identified.
Leaders of the market intervened to prevent the situation from escalating into a serious crisis. The matter was reported to the police, and an investigation is ongoing to ascertain the source of the meat and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Public Relations Officer of Alaba International Market, Ezeani Theophilus, confirmed the incident and stated that the food vendor is a local food seller, not associated with a restaurant. The police assured that once they receive the formal report, they will conduct a thorough investigation.
As of now, the result of the investigation has not been made public, and the food vendor has reportedly disappeared from the market. The authorities are determined to resolve the issue and bring those responsible to justice.
