Atanda Modupe Deborah, a student of the nursing department at the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), who had been reported missing in early September, has been found dead. The grim discovery was made in Oye Ekiti, causing shock and distress within the university community and beyond.
Deborah, a student in Stream A of the Faculty of Basic Medical Science, had disappeared on September 4, 2023. She was last seen in front of the pharmacy twin hall on the FUOYE campus, where she had gone to study. Her sudden disappearance had caused great anxiety and concern among her family and friends.
Tragically, on September 6, 2023, her lifeless body was discovered with severe injuries to her head. Disturbingly, it was alleged that her eyes had been removed, adding a horrifying dimension to the circumstances surrounding her death.
The student union body of the university also confirmed the tragic death of Deborah in a statement. The shocking and brutal nature of her death has left the community in grief and demanding answers.
