In a recent development surrounding the demise of the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the artist’s management has vehemently denied allegations that he left behind a will. The management clarified that Mohbad passed away without formalizing any instructions on how his assets should be distributed.
Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, had earlier claimed in an interview with TVC that he discovered a will supposedly written by the 26-year-old singer. Expressing shock at the revelation, Aloba raised concerns about the validity of the document, stating that it contained a thumbprint rather than a signature, further alleging that the thumbprints were affixed posthumously.
In response to these claims, Mohbad’s management issued a statement on the late singer’s Instagram page on Monday, labeling the assertions as “false and misleading.” The statement sought to provide clarity on certain aspects of the situation and dispel any misconceptions.
The key points highlighted in the management’s statement include:
1. The Police Authorities are conducting an investigation, and the autopsy results from samples sent abroad are expected to be shared after a couple of months.
2. Contrary to Joseph Aloba’s statements, neither Mohbad’s management nor his lawyer has communicated the existence of a will or any thumb-printed document to the family or the public.
3. The management emphasized that if such a document existed, it would have been duly registered with the Probate Registry. They urged everyone to refrain from spreading false and misleading statements.
4. All accounts owned and controlled by Mohbad during his lifetime were placed on a Post No Debit order on September 12, 2023. This order remains in effect until the resolution of internal disputes, after which the accounts will be handed over to the family.
This latest development adds a layer of complexity to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, raising questions about the authenticity of the alleged will and the ongoing internal disputes within the late artist’s circle. The management’s statement aims to set the record straight and prevent the spread of misinformation.
