In a tragic incident in Ondo State, Mrs. Tayelolu Solomon, a mother of three, is reported to have killed her 65-year-old husband, Felix Solomon, using a pestle. The unfortunate incident took place at the GRA in Ondo town over the weekend, as disclosed by the state-owned newspaper.
According to reports, the couple had been entangled in a lingering marital crisis, with the woman allegedly having made threats against her husband’s life before. The culmination of their domestic discord resulted in the fatal attack.
Ibukun Solomon, the son of the deceased, who witnessed the horrifying event, shared the grim details. He revealed that after a minor argument, his mother killed his father in his sleep by striking his head with a pestle. The son recounted, “My mother killed my father with a pestle in my presence and took to her heels. She used the pestle to hit his head when he was asleep.”
Despite efforts to save him, Felix Solomon succumbed to the injuries sustained from the attack. Ibukun Solomon explained that after the altercation, his father had planned to report the situation to the woman’s family before the tragedy unfolded.
The deceased had previously informed the family about the threats made by his wife, expressing concerns about the safety of his life. Family members were reportedly making efforts to resolve the persistent conflicts between the couple, but tragically, the situation escalated.
