Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed the price tag he has placed on striker Victor Osimhen, stating that “the only club that can afford him is Paris Saint-Germain.”
As negotiations for a contract extension continue, Napoli is reluctant to include a release clause in Osimhen’s contract. De Laurentiis made it clear that PSG would be the only club capable of meeting their demands.
“If Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to take him away from us, he will have to pay around €200m, and then we will evaluate,” De Laurentiis told Sport Mediaset.
Reports suggest that no club has been willing to offer more than €100m so far, which is concerning considering Napoli’s initial asking price was believed to be around €150m.
De Laurentiis further revealed that the asking price is even higher than previously reported, leading him to believe that Osimhen will remain with Napoli for the upcoming season.
The proposed €200m price tag would make Osimhen one of the most expensive signings in football history, but it could be an option if Kylian Mbappe were to leave PSG.
Osimhen, who is only 24 years old, was the top scorer in Serie A last season, netting 26 goals in 32 appearances and playing a crucial role in Napoli’s first title win in 33 years.
