In a bid to foster continuous development and prosperity in the Niger Delta region, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has urged the commission’s management and staff to engage in prayers and thanksgiving. This call was made during the Annual Thanksgiving Service organized by the NDDC Christian Fellowship at the commission’s Port Harcourt headquarters.
During the event, Ogbuku stressed the significance of cultivating a culture of thanksgiving, emphasizing the need to express gratitude to God for the evident blessings in the work of the NDDC. He specifically highlighted the importance of acknowledging God’s faithfulness and mercy, urging everyone to participate in praising God to usher in a more prosperous new year.
Expressing his joy about the sustained tradition of the annual thanksgiving service, Ogbuku acknowledged the need for gratitude given the many things the commission has to be thankful for. Commending both staff and management for coming together to pray for the progress of the NDDC, he announced plans for a designated place of worship within the commission’s headquarters.
Despite historical misconceptions about the NDDC, Ogbuku assured that the current Board is committed to changing these perceptions. He emphasized the importance of unity and love among the staff for the benefit of the Niger Delta region.
During the event, a pastor from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mr. Remi Odebode, delivered an exhortation, encouraging NDDC staff to be thankful to God in all situations. The resident pastor of the fellowship, Mr. Udoma Sunday, expressed gratitude for the new Board and CEO, emphasizing the need for continuous praise and glorification of God for the region’s abundant natural resources.
