The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has issued a cautionary alert, signaling that 19 states and 56 communities across Nigeria are at risk of experiencing flooding as a result of anticipated heavy rainfall during the upcoming month.
In an official statement released on Monday, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Lagos Territorial Coordinator for NEMA, emphasized the need for vigilance and preparedness in these vulnerable regions.
Mr. Farinloye highlighted the states and communities that are potentially in the path of the impending heavy rainfall and possible flooding:

– Jigawa State: Hadejia, Miga
– Osun State: Ilesa, Oshogbo
– Kwara State: Kosubosu
– Zamfara State: Anka, Bungudu, Gusau
– Sokoto State: Goronyo
– Adamawa State: Numan, Shelleng
– Taraba State: Serti
– Benue State: Ito, Katsina-Alan, Vande-Ikya
