In response to circulating speculations on social media, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has categorically dismissed claims that the wanted terrorist kingpin, Turji Bello, has become a member of the Nigeria Police.
The denial follows a post by a netizen with the username @OnyiPathfinder, who alleged that Turji Bello had joined the Police Force. The netizen accompanied the claim with a picture showing Turji Bello in what appeared to be a Police uniform, prompting @OnyiPathfinder to challenge Adejobi for clarification on the status of the wanted terrorist.
ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi swiftly addressed the matter in a brief statement posted on his account on the X platform on Wednesday. He stated, “Turji has never been recruited into the police. It’s a lie. This picture is not a new one.”
Turji Bello is a notorious bandit leader and terrorist operating in the northern part of Nigeria, who has been declared wanted by security operatives. The Nigeria Police Force emphasizes that the claims of Turji Bello’s affiliation with the force are baseless and should be treated as false information. Adejobi urges the public to verify information from credible sources and not to be misled by unfounded rumors circulating on social media platforms.
