Content creators and social media influencers in Nigeria are now receiving their first payouts from X (formerly known as Twitter) through its ad revenue-sharing program. This follows the recent extension of the program to global users, including those in Nigeria.
Previously, the ad revenue-sharing program had been rolled out to X users in the U.S., and now verified users in Nigeria and other countries who meet the impressions threshold on their content are eligible for payouts.
Many of the recipients of these payouts expressed their gratitude on the platform, particularly acknowledging Elon Musk, the owner of X, for introducing this monetization opportunity. They highlighted how this gesture has incentivized them to continue creating engaging content on the platform.
This payout system is expected to encourage more users, including those who were previously hesitant to pay for the blue verification badge, to actively engage and contribute content that attracts impressions. The blue badge subscription costs N3,560 per month.
One content creator, Napaul, shared his excitement and gratitude for the unexpected joy that the new monetization system has brought him.
As X continues to roll out its ad revenue-sharing program to users globally, it is likely that more content creators and influencers will benefit from this initiative, potentially reshaping the content landscape on the platform.
