A Nigerian man, Conrad Irabor Martin Iyayi, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a U.K. court for the murder of his wife, Kathryn Harris.
The 46-year-old convict st@bbed his 52-year-old wife multiple times in their home on Oak Crescent on February 6, 2022. The tragic incident occurred while their 11-year-old son was sleeping upstairs.
Kathryn, a mother of three and an art teacher at St Clares School in Mickleover, was found semi-n@ked in the kitchen of their residence by police officers, according to reports from DerbyshireLive.
Authorities had been summoned to their home by the defendant himself, who made a distress call to emergency services from a nearby telephone box. During the call, he confessed to the operator that he had k#lled his wife.
The court’s decision to impose a life sentence reflects the severity of the crime committed by Iyayi. The tragic incident has underscored the importance of addressing domestic violence and its devastating consequences.
