The Nigerian Navy has announced a reshuffling of appointments for 56 of its senior officers, including 56 Rear Admirals and one Commodore. The changes aim to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency within the organization.
Among the notable appointments, Rear Admiral Olusanya Bankole, who previously served as the Director of Logistics at the Defence Space Administration, has been appointed as the Chief of Communications and Information Technology at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Alexander Bingel, formerly the Director of Combat Policy and Tactics, has been appointed as the Director of Logistics at Defence Headquarters.
Other significant appointments include Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu, who now assumes the position of Chief of Defence Civil Military Cooperation at Defence Headquarters after serving as the Director of Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Kennedy Ezete, previously the Director of Project Monitoring at Defence Headquarters, has been appointed as the Chief of Administration at Naval Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Livingstone Izu, formerly the Director of Manning at Naval Headquarters, has been appointed as the Chief of Logistics at Naval Headquarters. Rear Admiral Musa Madugu, who previously served as the Deputy Director of Special Operation Forces at Defence Headquarters, has assumed the position of Admiral Superintendent at the Naval Ordinance Depot.
Further appointments include Rear Admiral Daupreye Matthew, who has been appointed as the Director of Training at Defence Headquarters, and Rear Admiral Zakariya Muhammad, who now serves as the Chief of Training and Operations after his tenure as the Director of Training at Naval Headquarters.
Additionally, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Nmoyem has been reappointed as the Director of Human Rights Desks at Defence Headquarters, and Rear Admiral Ibrahim Shettima, formerly the Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, has been appointed as the Director of Plans at Defence Headquarters.
Other officers who have been assigned new positions include Rear Admiral Monday Unurhiere, Rear Admiral Hamza Kaoje, Rear Admiral Sulaiman El-ladan, and Rear Admiral Idi Abbas. Their appointments cover various areas of expertise and responsibilities within the Nigerian Navy.
These reshuffled appointments are aimed at strengthening the Nigerian Navy’s operational capabilities and ensuring effective coordination and performance across different departments and commands.
