Iyorchia Ayu, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said Nigerians are not concerned about the internal wranglings in the party.
Ayu stated that the people are waiting for the opposition party to come and rescue them from the shackles of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Benue-born politician stated this on Monday at the flag-off of the PDP Presidential rally in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State.
Ayu said Nigerians are hungry, poor and insecure as a result of the bad policies of the APC, saying that the PDP is the solution to the problems facing the country.
The PDP chairman, however, appealed to all party members to join and support the campaign to emerge victorious in the 2023 general elections.
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his allies, including, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Seyi Makinde of Oyo, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, were absent from the flag-off ceremony on Monday.
Ayu said: “We are moving slowly so that those who are yet on board will join us on the train. It is important for us as leaders. Nigeria is not interested in our personal quarrels; Nigeria is waiting for us to come and rescue them from what is worrying them.
