Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has announced that the “sit-at-home” order in the Southeast region is “dead and buried.” Through his lead Counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu urged residents of the Southeast to reject those who are using his name to exploit and deceive people.
Kanu’s statement comes as he seeks to address the negative impact of the sit-at-home initiative, which has caused significant disruptions. He has canceled the sit-at-home order and replaced it with an Economic Empowerment Day (EED), aiming to find a more constructive way to bring about change.
In the statement issued by Ejiofor, Kanu emphasizes the need for critical assessment of the damages caused by the sit-at-home order and encourages people to welcome his decision to cancel it. He calls on residents to be vigilant against criminal elements who are taking advantage of the situation to deceive the vulnerable.
The statement also warns against falling for fraudulent schemes and manipulative tactics, highlighting previous instances of false promises and unfounded claims. Kanu’s message underscores the importance of critical thinking and discernment among the Biafran people, urging them to resist being manipulated and exploited.
The shift from the sit-at-home order to the Economic Empowerment Day reflects Kanu’s intention to pursue a more productive and sustainable approach to addressing the concerns of the Southeast region. This change marks a significant development in the strategies employed by IPOB and showcases Kanu’s commitment to the betterment of his people.
