Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been granted access to his second medical examination by the Department of State Services (DSS). According to a statement by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu’s lead counsel, the DSS has allowed Nnamdi Kanu to be examined by an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) surgeon. This medical examination took place in Abuja on a recent Wednesday, following the directives of the Federal High Court ruling. It is notable that this particular ENT surgeon was recommended by Kanu’s wife, indicating the collaborative effort to ensure his well-being.
The legal team of Nnamdi Kanu, committed to keeping the public informed, highlighted the significant strides being made in ensuring the health and medical needs of their client are met. The Federal High Court ruling, delivered by Hon. Justice B.F.M. Nyako on July 20, 2023, explicitly ordered the State Security Services (SSS) to grant Kanu access to medical professionals of his choice for examination outside the SSS facility.
