The campaign trail saw stops at the vibrant local government areas of Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha, where an atmosphere of cheers and excitement enveloped the events.
Encouraging strong civic participation, Governor Obaseki urged voters in the Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha local councils to turn out in large numbers on September 2, 2023, to cast their votes in favor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates. Governor Obaseki praised Dr. Tom Obaseki’s unwavering commitment, describing him as a leader who genuinely cares for his constituents and is dedicated to the Council’s development. The Governor cited Dr. Tom Obaseki’s successful management of over $200 million in projects within Edo State over the past eight years, including collaboration with the World Bank through the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP).
Elaborating on his endorsement, Governor Obaseki asserted, “He has the required experience to transform Oredo. He has been supportive to my administration with his wealth of experience. He has the training and background. He has managed men and resources and will not steal your money.”
In response, Dr. Tom Obaseki, the candidate for Oredo LGA chairmanship, pledged to complement the Governor’s ongoing efforts in enhancing the lives of the local populace.
