Godwin Obaseki, Governor of Edo State, directed the management of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, yesterday to retrieve all recent illegal disengagement letters issued to some of the institution’s staff members.
The directive was conveyed in a statement signed by Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State on Media Projects, and made available to journalists in Benin City.
The governor, according to the statement, insists that sack notices allegedly issued earlier to some university staff members are illegal, null and void.
The governor also ordered an investigation into what led to the issuance of the sack letters and stated that anyone found guilty would be prosecuted.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to staff welfare and is working to resolve any outstanding issues affecting workers at the state-owned institution.
