Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has expressed his commitment to support President Bola Tinubu and vowed to stand against any unjust opposition faced by the President. Iwuanyanwu declared that the entire Igbo nation would rally behind Tinubu’s administration and emphasized the importance of justice, fairness, and equity for the Southeast region.
During a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, Iwuanyanwu spoke about the positive relationship between the Igbo community and Tinubu during his tenure as governor. He recounted how Tinubu treated Ndigbo well and urged the President to continue fostering a just and equitable environment for the Southeast race.
Iwuanyanwu disclosed that there were attempts to dissuade Igbos from voting for Tinubu in the 2023 elections, asserting that it was unjust to deny support based on the notion that “it was our turn.” He urged Tinubu to ensure that the rights of the Igbo community are acknowledged and respected.
“The President of Nigeria today is Bola Tinubu. Ohanaeze has pledged our loyalty to support our brother. What we want from Tinubu is justice, fairness, and equity. We don’t want to take another person’s state; whatever is our right should be given to us,” stated Iwuanyanwu.
He further emphasized the commitment of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to support Tinubu and stand against any unjust opposition faced by the President, emphasizing that their goal is to secure their rights and promote a harmonious coexistence.
