Former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has offered advice to Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, suggesting that he should consider leaving Serie A champions Napoli. This recommendation comes in the wake of a TikTok video controversy that saw Napoli mock Osimhen for missing a penalty in a recent match against Bologna.
In the TikTok video posted by Napoli, Osimhen was mocked for his missed penalty, leading to a reaction from the player. Osimhen deleted all pictures and videos related to Napoli from his social media accounts, and his agent even threatened legal action against the club. The 24-year-old forward also reportedly snubbed some of his teammates upon arriving at the team hotel before Napoli’s Serie A match against Udinese.
Commenting on the situation, Sunday Oliseh expressed pride in being Nigerian and emphasized the importance of showing personality, working hard, and refusing to be intimidated. Oliseh suggested that Osimhen should leave Napoli promptly in response to the controversy.
Despite the off-field issues, Osimhen has performed well on the field, scoring four goals in six league appearances for Napoli this season under manager Rudi Garcia. The advice from Oliseh adds an interesting perspective to the ongoing discussions about Osimhen’s future with the Italian club.
