Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has expressed strong confidence that he will emerge as the party’s flag bearer in the upcoming 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Omisore made the declaration on Tuesday in Osogbo while officially announcing his intention to contest the APC ticket ahead of the party’s primary elections.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier fixed the conduct of governorship primaries for November 24 to December 15, 2025, while the main election is scheduled for August 8, 2026.
Speaking to supporters, the former lawmaker who represented Osun East Senatorial District between 2003 and 2011, said he enjoys overwhelming support from the majority of APC members across the state.
“By God’s grace, I am confident that more than 90 percent of our party members will support my ambition,” Omisore said.
He added that APC remains fully prepared to reclaim Osun in 2026.
“Osun people are ready to vote massively for the APC. Our members are united and determined to strengthen the party’s chances in the next election,” he stated.
Omisore described the mobilization within the APC as a clear sign of internal readiness ahead of the December primaries, saying the enthusiasm reflects “the trust and confidence of the people in the coming APC government.”
