A former governoship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State, Dr Sampson Orji, has asked the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, to shelve his senatorial ambition.
He made the call while speaking during a live radio programme, “Open Parliament,” monitored in Umuahia.
Orji, who was a former commissioner for Trade and Commerce, asked Ikpeazu to step down for incumbent senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
While stating that Ikpeazu cannot defeat Abaribe, Orji said the who is the PDP’s candidate for the Abia South Senate District, is not as qualified as the incumbent lawmaker for the red chamber.
He said that if allowed to choose between Governor Ikpeazu and Senator Abaribe, he would vote for Abaribe against Ikpeazu as “it is like asking one to choose between “experience and lack of experience.”
