In response to the recent verdict of the Appeal Court nullifying his election, Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has characterized the decision as a temporary setback. Undeterred, he remains resolute in his commitment to reposition the state on the path of unity, peace, and progress.
Governor Mutfwang, expressing optimism, believes that the overwhelming mandate given to him by the people of Plateau State will be restored. In a statement released on Sunday, he disclosed that his legal team has been instructed to file an appeal at the Supreme Court, emphasizing his confidence in the judicial process.
Addressing the citizens of the state and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Mutfwang urged them to remain calm. He assured them that, guided by his unwavering faith in both the judiciary and the constitution of Nigeria, the mandate of the people will ultimately be preserved and protected.
Reiterating his commitment to the rule of law, Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the current challenge but emphasized that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
