Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Zamfara State have arrested a notorious criminal gang leader in the state.
Confirming the development to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital on Friday, the Police Command’s spokesman, Muhammad Shehu said the terrorist who is simply identified as Alhaji Bello was apprehended when his gang were trying to attack communities in the Anka and Bukkyum Local Government Area of the state.
It was reported that Bello and his syndicates are specialized in smashing vehicles to steal money.
Items recovered during their arrest are said to include two AK47 rifles, two fabricated guns and 236 pieces of 7.62mm live ammunition and cash.
The command’s spokesman while narrating the situation said the former Lance Corporal in the Nigerian Army was nabbed with two rifles, a cache of ammunition and eight empty magazines he was transporting to his customer.
The PPRO said the former soldier has gone deep in the gunrunning business and has turned into a notorious kidnapper and armed robber.
