The police have arrested a 32-year-old man named Yusuf Isah in connection with the attack on Apostle Johnson Suleman, the senior pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide. The attack occurred in October 2022 along the Benin-Auchi Road in Edo State, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, including three policemen.
According to the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, the arrest of Isah was made by operatives of the Intelligence Rapid Team following an intensive investigation into the incident. The suspect was apprehended at Agbaraoluwa Phase 2 Ijoka, Akure, Ondo State. During the arrest, five AK 47 rifles, two K2 assault rifles, 180 live ammunition, and four suspected improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from Isah’s apartment.
The arrest and recovery of weapons are significant steps in the ongoing investigation into the attack on Apostle Suleman’s convoy. The police continue their efforts to bring all those responsible for the incident to justice.
