President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerian youths to remain patient and understanding in the face of the economic hardship caused by the initiatives of his administration. Tinubu assured that the current hardships the country is experiencing would eventually fade, paving the way for a more equitable, prosperous, and inclusive economy.
During a meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leaders from all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja on Thursday, President Tinubu made the pledge to prioritize the prosperity and unity of the nation. He acknowledged that economic reforms may take time but urged the youth to be patient a little longer.
Tinubu specifically addressed the issue of the removal of fuel subsidy, which has caused price hikes in various sectors of the economy. He empathized with the pains Nigerians are going through and recognized the challenges associated with eliminating a subsidy that had been in place for over four decades.
The removal of fuel subsidy has led to increased costs of food items, goods, services, and transportation, resulting in greater economic difficulties for citizens. President Tinubu’s appeal seeks to encourage patience and understanding among the youth as the government implements reforms aimed at transforming the country’s economic landscape.
